My name is Philippe Sohouenou. I graduated with master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from ESTP Paris (France) and the University of Nottingham (UK). I previously managed construction works at VINCI during an internship (2015), developed a bridge deterioration & maintenance model for my MSc thesis (2016), and developed a database and a risk model to help optimise the management of the infrastructures at SNCF, the owner and manager of the rail infrastructure in France, (2017). Through my education and work experience, I developed a passion for innovation and transport projects. This passion motivated me to join the SMARTI European Training Network as a research fellow. I'm currently based at the University of Nottingham, which is my host institution for SMARTI.
In the future, I hope to take part in innovative projects connected to infrastructures schemes benefiting industrialised and developing countries. My areas of interest include: Transport asset management, Risk & Resilience Engineering, Decision-support tools, Policy impact assessment, Strategic consulting, Sustainability, Smart infrastructures, as well as Business & Entrepreneurship.
